Why use fiberglass and PMI foam making radome ?
Aircraft radomes usually use single-layer thin-walled glass fiber composite materials and honeycomb sandwich glass fiber composite materials. The single-layer thin-walled glass fiber composite radome is heavy and easily deformed; due to the anisotropy of the honeycomb, the honeycomb sandwich glass fiber composite material deteriorates when the signal is incident at a large angle.
